 Community Nurseries Network

Terms of Reference

The Lakes Community Nurseries Network is committed to working collaboratively to share knowledge and expertise in the propagation of local native plant species.

The Network meets monthly and encourages all members to be actively involved to receive continued support and project updates.


  • To provide community drive and guidance through sharing knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the community revegetation program and to further build capacity within the Lakes community
  • To assist other network members by working collaboratively as a group
  • To provide support and guidance on all aspects of propagation and nursery management practices
  • To discuss and provide guidance on matters relating to the revegetation project
  • To provide a forum for discussion where issues of concern related to the project can be raised with a view to reaching a consensus on how to manage or resolve issues
  • To provide a forum where various stakeholders from the revegetation program and other organisations can discuss and gain consensus on operational matters associated with the Community Nurseries Network


  • The Committee will meet on a monthly basis for the duration of the project
  • Meetings will be guided by an agenda with supporting papers where appropriate
  • Minutes will be taken and ratified for all meetings
  • Meetings will be chaired by the Community Nurseries Coordinator


  • At least one representative from each of the Community Nurseries
  • Milang & District Community Association
  • Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning Association
  • Department of Environment & Natural Resources
  • Other invited representatives as appropriate


Members are expected to:

  • Be on time to meetings or send an apology if unable to attend or arrange for a proxy
  • Show respect to each other and respect their views, even in the face of disagreement
  • Participate in discussion in a positive manner which respects the opinions of others and takes into account project limitations
  • Show an openness to new ideas


Reporting relationship

              The Community Nurseries Network (Coordinator) will report to:

  • The Milang & District Community Association
  • The Department of Environment & Natural Resources
  • Each representative will report to the groups/agencies/organisations whom they represent

Agenda and Papers

  • Agenda items are to be forwarded to the Community Nurseries Coordinator no later than one week prior to each meeting
  • The agenda and associated papers will be sent out no later than three days prior to each meeting



The Lakes Community Nurseries Network is an initiative of the Milang & District Community Association and is part of the South Australian Government’s Water for the Future initiative.
